"What is registered in a diary cannot be modified, since all the facts, thoughts and idealisations written in it remain forever linked to the date noted at the beginning of each new entry. The passage of time may give it new meanings, but it can never change its content or polish the scratched corners, as the human mind is indeed capable of doing at the cost of nostalgia or oblivion. Returning to certain thoughts and places captured in the black ink of my diary puts me in front of a mirror whose reflected eyes I prefer not to look into."
